Dr. Maria R. Martin is a bi-cultural, bilingual Spanish-speaking Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Marriage and FamilyTherapist (LMFT).  She specializes in Immigration Evaluations and Psychological Assessments and has served as an expert and fact witness during Immigration Court proceedings.  She is an experienced Child Abuse Forensic Interviewer and has conducted numerous child abuse evaluations and dependency investigations. Dr. Martin has served as an expert and fact witness during Dependency Court proceedings, has expertise in providing domestic
violence and child abuse treatment, and treatment for victims and witness of
crimes.  Additionally, she has specific training in Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs)
including, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Crisis
Intervention (CORS) and Seeking Safety.

Experience:

   Clinical Psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist - Private Practice                                Provide psychological assessments, immigration evaluations, individual and family therapy as well as couple's therapy.

  Associate Divisional Director - Pacific Clinics - Latina Youth Program (LYP), Santa Fe Springs, CA Oversee the daily clinical and administrative operations of the Latina Youth Program.  Manage a $6 million annual budget contract with Los Angeles County, Department of Mental Health.  Provide daily consultation and problem solving interventions to 66 staff, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, interns and others.  Develop policies and procedures to ensure the smooth operations of all programs and the delivery of quality of care to consumers and their families.

  Program Director - Pacific Clinics/Sierra Family Center, Glendora, CA
Oversee the daily operations. Manage programs and provide daily consultation
and problem solving interventions to staff. Develop policies and procedures to
ensure the smooth operation of all programs and the delivery of quality of care
to over 700 consumers and their families.

 
Family Services Supervisor - Pacific Clinics/Sierra Family Center, Glendora, CA
Manage the Calworks Program and the outpatient component of severe
emotional disturbed children. Oversee the management and clinical supervision
of over 125 cases that include children, adolescents and adults with severe
mental illnesses, dual diagnoses and dysfunctional relationships. 


Program Manager - Vista Opportunity Centers, Covina, CA
Provide clinical and administrative supervision to MFT interns as well as
licensed clinicians. Provide child and family therapy, conduct intake interviews,
mental status examinations, diagnosis, develop case plans and coordination
plans. Coordinate services with other care providers including DCFS and
Probation Departments.


Children’s Social Worker - Department Of Children And Family Services,
Torrance, CA. Conduct evaluations and clinical assessments of suspected child
sexual and physical abuse victims. Serve as an expert and fact witness during
court proceedings. Conduct face-to-face interviews and psychosocial
evaluations of suspected child abuse victims and their caregivers. Provide
caregivers with appropriate counseling referrals and other resources
as needed.
